September is REALTOR®  Safety Month! 

REALTORS® are all about SAFETY! This year's safety meeting revolves around how to protect yourself and others online when sharing personal information. Cybersecurity safeguards everything valuable in our digital world. It is essential to always implement strong cybersecurity practices when dealing with online transactions to keep yourself, your family, and your clients safe when dealing with the World Wide Web.

Join us at our 2025 September General Membership Meeting, where Western Title & Escrow shares a comprehensive presentation on “The Ever-evolving Saga of Cyber Fraud”. Cyber fraud, particularly Business Email Compromise (BEC), poses a significant threat to the real estate sector, resulting in billions of dollars in losses each year. Fraudsters employ advanced tactics like email spoofing, social engineering, and deepfake technology to deceive stakeholders in transactions. Increased awareness, verification procedures, and secure communication are essential to prevent and respond to these evolving threats.

• Buyers/Sellers, REALTORS®, Title Companies, and Law Firms, are primary targets of cyber fraud.
• Fraud techniques include phishing, vishing, smishing, and deepfakes.
• Red flags include urgent wire instruction changes and unusual communication.
• Immediate reporting and verification are crucial for risk management.

The 2026 Lincoln County Board of REALTORS® Nomination Committee Election Slate has been completed and approved by the Board of Directors. The following ballot is now respectfully submitted to you for your consideration and approval:

Additional candidates for the offices to be filled may be placed into nomination by petition, signed by at least 20% of the REALTOR® Members eligible to vote (approximately 60 signatures). If you wish to file a petition to be included on the September ballot, it must be received by the Executive Officer no later than 4:00 pm, Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025. Staff would like to thank all of our volunteer leaders for all you do and encourage all members to get involved in volunteer leadership- either through the Executive Board or on our amazing volunteer committees. Committee appointments will occur this Nov/Dec for next year. The LCBR Committees are: MLS Committee, Community Outreach Committee, Scholarship Committee, Membership & Education Committee, REALTOR Safety Committee, RPAC/Government Affairs Committee, President's Advisory Committee/PAG & Professional Standards & Grievance Committees.
